Oracle Database WebSphere Administrator

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for the administration and support of the company’s Oracle RDBMS (Relational Database Management Systems)

Essential Functions:

• Ensuring database availability as per requirements

• Managing database backup and recovery using RMAN

• Managing database security

• Ensuring adequate performance of the RDBMS

• Undertaking problem resolution including the application of RDBMS bug fixes

• Performing proactive monitoring of the RDBMS and regular infrastructure reviews

• Performing build and configuration of the RDBMS

• Support and maintain Oracle database applications.

Secondary Functions:

· Assist with application and user support when needed.

· Performs work in Websphere application development, systems design, systems analysis, and technical leadership in a multi-dimensional environment

Job Requirements:

· 3 years experience as a DBA, 18 months of which are in a Production support capacity in a Linux/Unix environment

· Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Websphere Administrator preferred.

· Strong SQL knowledge is essential, PL/SQL is a plus

· Experience of administration of Oracle Application Server/BI Server is a significant plus

· A degree in Computer Science is preferred

· OCP is preferred but not essential

· Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Must be a self-starter and have the ability to provide on-call support when required without supervision.

· Experience using Websphere to develop and manage JAVA applications and EJB components to enable interactions with enterprise databases, transaction processing systems, and other applications.

J2EE Software Developer

Position Summary:

Develops specifications for moderately complex software applications. Develops, modifies and maintains applications that may be customized or standardized. Participates in design and coding activities with other staff members.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Work with the team to design and develop Web applications backed with Oracle database.

2. Designs, codes and analyzes system applications.

3. Build dynamic web pages and web components using J2EE technology.

4. Maintains and modifies existing applications.

5. Performs custom programming at customer request.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Familiar with J2EE and related technology.
• Experience in: JavaScript, Servlet, JSP, Java Bean, XML, SSL , SQL, PL/SQL.
• Strong programming background.
• Experience in both server-side and client-side application development.
• Familiar with object oriented programming methodology.
• Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to other technical staff members.
• Ability to interface well with team members and other non-technical members of the organization.
• Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies.
• Knowledge relating to the area in which analysis and coding is performed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent on-the-job experience is preferred.
• Minimum three years experience as a J2EE Developer working with Oracle (experience with equivalent products may be considered).
• Some experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Loader preferred.

Web Designer/Developer

Summary

Performs work in Websphere application development, systems design, systems analysis, and technical leadership in a multi-dimensional environment. Work Involves application of Use Case Methodology to develop requirements for system design and development. Performs administrative and monitoring tasks related to the support of Websphere application servers (WAS), including installing the software, configuring, tuning, backup and recovery. Develops and maintains routines needed to automate tasks related to WAS maintenance. Performs similar tasks for Web Server software used to access WAS. Resolves or refers problems related to use of WAS.

Job Description and Main Responsibility

· Design and administer sophisticated web sites/web pages that can describe business process and are ready for developers to code using J2EE technology

· Conduct client side programming for web applications

· Create/edit images and graphics for web site usage

· Work with the team to follow and maintain design standard/design documentation

Skills needed:

· Strong typography, web design and layout skills.

· Excellent programming skills in HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, CSS.

· Familiar with Macromedia Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash, Photoshop, Cross-Platform Web Knowledge, Web Optimization.

· BIG PLUS: In depth Flash (rich media), JSP and JSTL knowledge.

· Excellent creative design skills and communication skills.

· Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree or experience equivalency in Computer Science, Multimedia is preferred.

· Minimum 3-5 years experience required.
